THE MOUNT SOMERS CONCERT.
10 THZ BDXXOB. Sir,— After reading the account of a concert at Mount Homers, published In your paper, and sent by the Mount Somers reporter, I feel that I cannot let some of the statements In it go unoorreoted. Though thoroughly appreciating the compliment paid by your reporter m giring the name of •* Christian Ohoir " to the Mount Bomera Singing Glass, I beg to inform the public thet it was the books which we used on this occasion and not the singing class that own that. I must say that we had only one week In wbioh to practice, and no thanks to a certain com* mitteo for even that ; as tha only place m Mount Somers whioh is available for ohoir [meetings, Bands of Hope, etc , is charged for to such an extent that it is impossible to use it. With your pernvaslon, I will now give a correct account a" the concert to snow some of th» absurd mistakes made by your reporter. The first part of the conoert wan bb follows: — Opening piece, No. 10, Christian Ohoir, •* Lord thy GldlV fills the Heaven," Next a duet and chorus " Nearer Home," from the same book ; anthem, Messrs Dellow, No. 6 0.0 , "We've sighted the Golden Gate;" sacred song, "The Tomb of Baohel," Mies A. Tha Singing OUbs then gave a glee, "The Village Chorister," whloh. being heartily enoorea 1 , was repeated. "God Save the Qaeen" was then sung whfoh finished the conceit, Hoping that you will find apace In your valuable paper for this. — I am, etc , One of thb (so oallbd) Obswhav Ohoir.
