London, September 24. Barttelot's expedition has been disbanded, the death of the leaders hay ng made its success hopeless.
(Received September 26, 1150 a.m.) London, September 24. Fahran, Stanley's Syrian interpreter, has arrived here, and reports that he left Major Barttelott'a comp at Armohimi three days before the latter was murdered. He confirms ihe statementr already made respecting Barttelott's cruel and tyrannical conduct towards the men. Stanley, on the other hand, was always considerate to the members of his parly, and had strongly enforced on the other leaders the necessity of exercising kindness to the Natives. Fahran says that Barttelol's cruelty to the men commenced as soon as Stanley left and brought on him the hatred of Tippoo Tib, so he seized every opportunity to obstruct him m all possible ways. Fahran believed that Stanley has reached Emm Bey, but ad/nits that there is ground for the anxiety regarding him. The London press oppose further expeditions, on the ground that already too many valuable lives and a considerable amount of money have been sacrificed m Central Atrica.
