[Pib Press Association.] London, September 24. At the wool auctions to-day the bidding was more animated, and 12,000 bales were disposed of. Merinos and greasy sorts show an advance of a halfpenny on last closing rates. Scoured wool has advanced from a halfpenny to • penny ; coarse crossbreds are Blightly cheaper. Calcutta, September 24. The Indian crops have been damaged by floods. (Received September 26, 12,30 p.m.) London, September 25. A cargo of Adelaide wheat has been •old at 38s 6d. At the wool sales to-day biddings were spirited. Lambs wool is weaker, Up to date 5000 bales have been withdrawn. M. Licht, the sugar expert, estimates the yield of Europe m beet sugar will be 451,000 tons above last year'?. The stock on hand and floating cargoes are, however, 144,000 tons below the amount at tke same period last year.
