JAMIPKIMO. ♦ Some time since we published a small paragraph en the unsatisfactory nature of much of the jam retailed In the colony. This reached Messrs Klrkpatrlck ar>d Co,, of Nelson, and they went to work In a very practical fashion to prove that the jams manufactured by the firm were of the best quality. Two cases of assorted jims were sent to this effioe, with a request that we would thoroughly test the jam along with other brands, and give our opinion. vVo ar.e heppy to state, frankly and fully that wo have been vary much surprised, aa prior to the receipt of Messrs Kirkpatriok's gift wo were unaware that JNevr Zealand oonld boaßt of an Industry of which tt haa so much reason to be proud. The various sorts of jam were tested by a number of persons, who compared the samples with other brands, and ihe general verdiot Is thut uot only are i Moaara Klrkpatrlok'a productions far aud away better than any other New Zealand brand we can obtain, but they *re superior to JJinxUen jama In beiug freshwr. The nearest approooh to the excellence of tho JMelson jim was tha> , contained m tins bearing the name of a Taemanian firm, but even In this oom- ' parlson tho Nelson article oame out a long way best. We are pleased to be able to ■ give unstinted praise to a genuine local i industry, tho product of which we oari , unreservedly recommend to consumers. : AH of the many perepng who have tested • the camples are loud Tv tlieTr praise, and , we mnbt uoroaetyedly congratulate Moaqra ] Ktritpatrlck and OoT upon turning out a , genutne frulc j^m fit to grace the tables \ and p'eine the palates of tbo most i luxnrionH and fiisridioiiß. — " Huwko'e iJ»y < Hertld," .luiy 18th. < gisplas of £irkpatr!ck and Go's "X " I brand of jim hava l.'pep forwarded to us ] and we are free to &onft>e<i th,at they ( appeat to be m every way excellent and j •s tney become bettor known m the local market will meet with much appreciation ] from the ho&do of households.
