The captain of a whaler reports that the Bhip Confederation, from New York to Australia, with forty eight persons on board, foundered m the Pacific. After forty days' privation m the boats the survivors, to the number of sixteen only, including two womeD, landed on the island of Ojee, Eight of them afterwards lost their liveß m trying to intercept a passing vessel.
