Cairo, September 23

A British gunboat and a battalion of Egyptian forces have been ordered to Suakim^to prevent the advance of Osman '^Digna. Tbe rebels, who number iooo strong, are engaged m shelling the town. An Italian gunboat, which was stationed at Massowah, has gone to Suakim to assist the garrison there against the rebels.
