X The meeting will be held utder the rules of racing, and the Ashbutton Racing Club Rules 2 No entry will be received except on the conditions that all claims, disputes, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards or whom they may appoint. Their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this programme te be final. 3 A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident m the district between the rivers Selwyn and Opihi, from August 20th, 1 838, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided m the said district during the same period. 4 Five per cent will be deducted from the gross of all moneys payable m accordance with this programme for the expsnrtt of the course. 5. All nomination and acceptance fees to go to the funds of the Club. 6. Trotting Race— Horses must trot to the satisfaction of a Referee. 7. The Stewards reserve to themselves the righ Ito add a consolation race to the programme. NOMINATIONS. All Nominations accompanied by fge, name, age, description, and performances of horse, and colors of the rider must be m the hands of the Secretary not later than 9 p.m. on Thursday, November Ist, 1888. WEIGHTS. Weights for the first day's handicaps wll be declared en or about November 14th. Weights for the second day's handicaps will be declared at 9 o'clock m the cveniDg of the first day's racing. ACCEPTANCES. Acceptances for the first day's handicaps must be m the hands of the Secretary not later thaD 9 p.m. on Monday, November 19th, 1888.
