OPENING OF THE WOOL SALES

The wool sales opened to-day i o,ooo bales were offered, but the won was of inferior selection, one thin coming from New South Wales, an( one fifth from the Cape. The attend ance was large but biddings were irre gular. Good merino shows a highei tendency. Faulty sorts are weaker Crossbreds underwent no change The total amount available for the present series is 230,000 bales.
