CHERTSEY
•-- ' -^ . (from our own correspondent.) Since my last letter to yott from this dlstrlofc, about two months ago, we have experienced, the vlolaaltudea of all varieties of weather. After an exceedingly mild winter we have bad some very boisterous spring weather. High winds heive been very prevalent, and were occasionally aooompanied by sleet and rain. Our anolent friend Aquarius must have been stumbling about, among his water^potß sadly of late, as I understand from our local meteorologist that the rainfall has of la> been qu,Ue abnormal for this season of the year. The beneficial effect of the rainfall Is, however, quite apparent everywhere, as the early sown, grain props give great promise., $nd the autumn aown wheatcrops exhibit a healthy vitality. Grass land f* now rapidly improving, and altogether the oqtlook for the agriculturist is a moat promising one. I am informed that an. eatytiainment, to omalsfc of the usual miscellaneous concert and danoe, will be held here In two or three weeks from date. The objeot of the said entertainment is a most laudable one, being m behalf of the funds of the Public Library. , Great exertions are being made by the managers of the effalr to eeoure novel and exoellent talent, and It is to be |oped that the public will attend In strong force and ahew that they appreolato the efforts of those who have Instituted and fostared for some yearß, an exoellent eduoatlonal factor m the district. 1 have to chronicle an addition to the buildings In ou.r little townahlp.
