Thoy aro available for all p. rson3 bond fida visiting such towns on these dales, but they nre not available for persons not intending to stop their journey at such town?, who take such tic'^ts for tho purpose of evading tbe payment of tho ordinary f ares to other statiors whore no sales or markets are held. I am informed that tho iFstie of special tickets, such as theso, at fixi d dates for vieiting cartain localities, is very common m other parts of the world where Ihey are used by many millions of travellers annually, under simi'ar restrictions en private companies liooa. We have experien cad no practical diffi cnlty of any moment hitherto m connection with the pmctice. It seems, however, that it is necoesaTy to give greater publicity to tho canditions under which such tickets are issued, which will be duly attonded to (Signed), Q-. F.
