At Waikarl earchquako Bhocks were fel on Sunday at 4 22 a m , and 6 30 p.m. and to-d»y at 4 a.m. and 12 9 p.m., bu wore nob auffioianily heavy to c^uae ui easiness. The observer, after inform ing his family of what he had aeen, walked some distance away from his house tc obtain a clearer view of the hills, bnt there was no repetition of the mygterlone UlnmlnaUoD, He compares the light to a piotorial representation cf a volcanic eruption, and is impressed with the belief that an outburst has taken place somewhere in the Amuri Hot. Springs region.
