FIGHTING IN CENTRAL AFRICA.

Londoit, September 7. Information has been received that missionaries engaged m work m the neighborhood of Lake Nyassa, Eastern Africa, were recently harrassed by Arab slavers, and driven from their posts. The forces, attached to the missionary camps, under the command of Cffptain Longard, attacked the slayers, but were repulsed, and several Europeans and a number- of native allies were killed. Captain Longard himself was wounded during the engagement.
