After a lengthy exposition of their views and a dtsoassion with members of the Oounoll the deputation withdrew. ' The Engineer was instructed to report on the matter. ALLEGED DAMAGE, Mrß. G. Orisp, on behalf of MrO. Dlgby, wrote oomplaiolng of damage caused to his olleat's property through tha OoanoH'a protective works and interference with the river. Lagal proceeding* were threatened unless the matter wera rectified within a reasonable time. Letter received. Mr Jas. Jamleaon -wrote, complaining of waier woe, through his property at Sekvlew, having been removed to higher ground thus oaualng It to overflow and damage hia property. He suggested thai the race should be deepened. The matter was referred to the Engineer. TINWAID GBAVHL RESERVE. The Tin mid Town Board wrote, In reply to a letter from the Oonrioii; for^ warding » resolution that It refused to take oontrol of the Gravel Beserve, and was of opinion that aa the County Oouuoil,, Upper Ashburton Road Board, and Longbeaoh Road Board had had the oio of the pit for years. BRIDGE. .- The Longbeach Road Board strain drew attention to the decking of thi bridge at the junotlon of Wheatitone aad Terrjoe roads.
