An agent of tbe Forestry Department, Mr" Farris, has reaohed tbe conclusion that tha rings on trees are not an accurate record of the ages of the trees. Mr Farriß has found twelve rings m trees only six years old, five m those eight years old, and eleven m those of only five years:
