Daring August the Castors revenue collected In JNew Zealand amounted to £136,628 4b Id, a» against £95,971 lCs $d m the previous month, and £121,106 9b 6d In August of last year The eetlmate for the month was £104,166 13s 4 1, ■o that the amount collected exceeded it by abont £32,600. The amonnt received for five months of the present financial year is £557,371 11s Bd, or £36,538 9s 6d above the estimate. The amounts oolleoted at the principal towns last month were as follows : — Auckland £35,011 Ua Od Dunedin - £33,667 17s 8d Lyttelton and Ohrlstohuroh £24,134 12s lid Wellington £21,689 18s 8d The beer dcty oolleoted m Mew Zealand during the past month amounted to £3632 4s 6d, or abont £620 less than the estimate. The amount oolleoted for the ! first five months of the financial year amounts to £18,94328 lid, or £2315 11s , Id less than the estimate. The principal amounts last month were : — Ohrisloharoh £795 0s Od Auckland £776 15s lOd Dunedin £634 10s 3d Wellington £404 0s Od i -~~
