THIBETAN WAR.
Calcutta, August 28. Information has been received here that the threatened attack by the Thibetans on the British position at Guatong has been deferred for a time, but it is feared that when it takes place the overwhelming number ofthe enemy will make a lengthened defence necessary, and the British force will be m an extremely difficult position.
