COST OF RAISING OUR LOANS.

The Auditor General, m forwarding the balanoe sheets of the colony, 1832 to 1888 to the Governor, requested him to lay the sime before Parliament, adding that "much time and labor have been bestowed upon this compilation, In the hope that it may be found not without' interest or usefulness as a contribution to the history of New Zsaland," The receipts and expenditure by the Government of NewZaaland oommenoe m 1840, and are oontlnued every year nntll and including 1887 88.
