No particulars are to hand, but the conflagration was evidently an extensive one. iNVEROARaiLL, AugQSt 29. Alexander Darling's fellmongery near town was burned down last night. Abont 5 p.m. the chimney of a dwelling close to the works caught fire, but the flames were extinguished and everything made apparently safe. A spark from the chimney, however, mast have lodged In the roof of the shed newest the honae, for about half, past six a fire broke out at that particular spot. The fire spread rapidly, aud the eight sheds of whioh the works are composed were soon destroyed. The residence and stable were saved, and a few bales of wool were got out of the burning building. Moat of the bones, of whioh there were about £500 worth In ■took, were left untouched, but the valuable machinery with whioh the works were fitted, including a new bone mill, an engine, a large boiler and two tallow digesters were more or leas injured. Darling estimates that the stock and material on hand was worth at least £1000. The property was insnred for about £1200 m the New Zealand office'
