ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET

There were fairly large entries of stook yarded at Addington on Wednesday, muoh heavier than was anticipated. The weather was very fine, and the attendance about an average one. Fat Cattle. — The heaviest entry that has been yarded for some time, the quality, with few ezceptions, being a great improvement on reoent markets, a special feature of the sale being a draft of superb heifers from the estate of Mr Wm. Birdling. The demand was a fairly active one, last week's improved values being about maintained. Prime bullocks sold at from £6 12a 6d to £8 ; prime heifers at from £6 15a to £8 15s ; medium heifers and cows at from £3 15s to £5 10s ; being at from 16s to about 20a per 1001 b. Store Cattle — A pretty numerous entry, a fairly good demand showing. A line of three-year-old steers Bold at £4 4s 6d, and a line of 37 two-year-olds at £3 ; odd lots at late values. Fat Sheep.— A fairly numerous entry, muoh heavier than was anticipated, considering the recent rough weather we have had. The quality was m most caseß very prime. The demand wbb fairly aotive, late values ruling at if anything a trifle easier, particularly second-rate sorts. Primest orossbred wethers sold at from 15s to 18a, very heavy up to 20s 6d per head, medium weights sold at from 11s 3d to 13s 9d, crossbred eweß from 10s 3d to 14s 6d, merino wethers from 10a to 13s 3d, being at from 2|d to 3d per lb aa per quality. Store Sheep.— A few lines yarded, all being sold at fully late rales. Messrs Bennetta Bros, sold, for clients, 46 crosabreds m lamb at 11s 6d, 15 hoggets at 7s 6d, 103 hoggets at 9s 4d, 95 ewes m lamb at 11s, and 116 do at 12s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Company sold, for Mr D. Dohrman, a small line of four and six-tooth wethers at lls 3d, and for another client a line of four and Bix-tooth ewes and wethers at 10s. Pigs. — A large entry ; values eajjier. Baconers sold at from 32s to 58s per head ; porkers, 183 to 27e 6d ; s'.oreP, lls to 189, being from 3£d to B£d per lb.
