♦ [Pfr Pbess Association.] LONDON, AutfUSt 21. The market rate of d'scount is 2$ per cent. The English wheat markets show a general advance of 6d, 'I he continent makets also show an upward tendency, whilst m the American markets prices are advancing firmly. The average price for English wheat is now 35s 9d. Althogh a large number of foreign cargoes have arrived, nearly all off coast cargoes " have been sold. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the .United Kingdom is 1,085,000 quarters, and for the Continent 472,000 quarters. The American visible supply of wheat is 26,250,000 bushels. London, Aaeuot 23 Two Australian wheat cargoes have been sold at 37s 6d. The Blengfell's cargo realised the same price. Four thousand five hundred quarters of Adelaide shipment, for prompt delivery, sold at 38s 3d. Australian frozen meat is quotad at 4£d. Sydney, Aairaot 23 Potatoes, New Zealand, 85s ; Circular Head, 75s ; Warrnambool, 60s , Onions, New Zealand £7 ; Victorian; £8 to £8s 10s. Oats, feed 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; milling, 2s 4d to 2s 6d ; seed, tartarians, 2s 4d ; wheat, chick, 2s 7d to 29 lOd ; milling, 3s 3d; cheese, steady, 7d to 7|d'j butter, local, Is 6d to Is 9d ; imported, Is 3d to Is sd ; bacon, local, 7d ; New Zealand, 9d ; hems, New Zealand, Is. Adelaide wheat, firm, at 3s 8d ; farmers' lots, 3s 6d ; shipping parcels at Port Adelaide, 3s 4d to 3s 5d ; farmers' lots at outports, 3s 4d ; flour, stone made, £8 5s ; roller made, £8 15s to £9 ; oats, 3s 4d to 3s 6d ; malting barley, 5s to 5s 3d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, are m receipt of cable advices from their London office, dated 21st inst., quoting Victorian wheat, f.a.q., 37s 6d, and advising that harvesting was retarded by bad weather, and that much speculation existed m the- market.
