Mr D. Thomas (late Mataon Oox & Go.) reports tbat he has Bold the draught eolt " Hero," three years old to Mr Hercock of Car ertnn, Wellington, for £250. The sale was sanctioned by the breeder, Mr Robert Clark, who had taken passage for the co t to Sydney, where he was entered at the A. and P. Association show, and, no doubt, had he gone there would have rendered a good account of himself, being, in the opinion of many competent judges, the best colt in New Zealand. Canterbury's loss is Carter ton V gain. Annexed is the full pedigree of Hero, which will prove, to the most sceptical, that for breeding Hero cannot be surpassed any- i where : —
