MR REES' SCHEME.
Mr W. L. Rees, who, with Wi Pere, is petitioning Parliament for assistance m carrying out his scheme for* the colonisation of the East Coast District of New Zealand, has been recommended by the Marquis of Lothian to await the report of the Committee appointed by Government to enquire into the best means of promoting State colonisation. It is expected that the Committee will not bring their report until the autumn session, to be held m November.
