Replying to questions it was slatsd that the wholi question of the property tax woold be carefully considered during the recess ; that a letter had been reoeived from Mr Vaile to the effeot that several Influential gentlemen In Auckland had afforded a substantial guarantee for a trial of the Vaile system on the Auoklsod lines, but that nothing lees than a oash deposit of £300,000 wourd satisfy the Government, and that It was not proposed to accept the offer j that £1000 had been pl»o d on the estimates for the nominated immigration of the wives and children of residents m the . colony ; that Govern ■ mer.t oould not hold out any hope of formulating a scheme to provide for forest tree planting by the State ; that suffioleut land had been reserved for mining par* poses under the Midland Railway contraot; that it was believed no farther contribution would be given towards the Government of New Gnlnea ; that Government bad no intention of bringing In a Bill to give effeot to Mr Yafle'a proposal to lease the Auokland railways for five years ; that a sum would be put on the estimates for another shipment of salmon ova ; that Oolonel Haultln bad resigned aa one of the Representation Commissioners daring the recess, and Government proposed to •sk the House to consent to his reappolntatent. RAILWAY MARKET TICKETS. Some disousdon took plaoe on the quea* tion pat by Mr Walker ai to the unsatisfactory relations existing m regard to railway market tickets. Several members urged on the Minister to make some ohange m. this respect. aiSBORNE HARBOR BOARD BILL. The Premier moved that the Gliborne Harboar Board BUI be reramltted to a Committee of the whole House on Wednesday.' The motion was agreed to, and the BUI set down for Thursday next. BIIXS ADVANCED. The Rating Aot Amendment Bill was farther considered In Committee, and the remaining olauses passed. The Fencing Aot Amendment Bill waa further oonsldered m Committee, Interrupted by the 5 30 p.m. adjournment.
