A HALF-HOLIDAY WANTED.
TO THE BDITOB. Sir,—l* it not possible to obtain a half day's holiday once a week for the abop assistants m this town, or are our tradesmen bo selfish that thoy will not grant this boon to their servants. The fact of the matter Is that there is no nnlon among them, bat they are all trying to best each other. I ask our empbyers to throw aside their petty jaalouales, and grant thole servants the privilege of one half-day's recreation a week, say Thursday afternoon, and I oin assure them that, yith their energies recouped from this respite, their employees wonld give greater satisfaction even than before.
