Bob a Fide Sale NOW IN IXJLL SWING AT THE NEW ZEALAND Clothing Factory. ' Manager. JAM PRIMO. Some time since we published a Bmail paragraph en the unsatisfactory nature of much of the jam retailed m the colony. This reached Messrs Klrkpatrlck and Co., of Nelson, and they went to work m a very practical fashion to prove that the jams manufactured by the firm were of the best quality. Two cases of assorted jams were sent to this offioe, with a request that we would thoroughly test the jam along with other brands, and give our opinion. We are happy to statp, frankly and fully that, we have been very muoli surprised, as prior to the receipt of Messrs Kirkpatrick's gift we were unaware that .Mew Zealand conld boast of an industry of which it haß so much roaaon"to be proud. The various sorts of jam were tested by a number of persons, who compared the samples wl,th other brands, aod the general verdiot is that not only are Messrs Kitkpatrlck's produotioun far ! aud away better than any other .New Zealand brund wn can obtain, but they are superior to jflngliati j*tnn In belug fresher. The nearest approaoh to the excelleuce of the NeUon jam was that contained m tins bearing the name of a Tasmanian firm, but even m this com- ! parison the Nelson article came out a long w*y best. We are pleased to be able to give unstinted praise to a genuine local industry, tho product of which we can unreservedly recommend to consumers. All of the many persooa who have tested the samples are loud m their praise, aud we mutt unreservedly congratulate Messrs Klrkpatrlck and Co. upon turning out a genuine fruit j*m fit to grace the tables and pletse tbe palates of the mont luxorioae aid rHßUdious. — " Mawke'a Hay Herald," .luiy 18th. Samples of Klrkpatrlck and Go's " X " brand of jam have been forwarded to us and we are free to confess that they appear to be m every way excellent and as they become better known m the local market will meet with much appreciation from the heads of households. The maker asserts that cone but the purest fruits yrown m Nelson are used m his manufactures, and we are content to accept ihat assurance. O-Ttatnly tH P j*m» poßßeeß a richness aou i-wan, oaa o r flavor that bears that assertion oafc«*— Donedln " tftar," July 3. (
