London, August 14. A collision took place m the English Channel yesterday^ between the Newcastle steamer Bsophorus and the Abbeytown bound for Warrnambool laden with cement. The Bosphorus sank, but the crew was saved by the Abbeytown which reached Plymouth with her bows stove m.
