A shower of hats is one of the rarest of atmospheric phenomena ; but it re cen ly occurred m Norfolk County, U.B.A. Several hundred straw hate fluttered down from the clouds into the streets of Medfiold, though not a few. stayed their descent on church eteep!o3 and house roofs, A cyclone that bad visited a hat factory some ten miles off was the cause of this singular accident The cyclone bad carried to the upper regions of the air some hundreds of straw hats, whioh were drying m bushels on the grounds of the factory. The hats, whea well up m the air, travailed along till they were poised exactly over Medfield, and then gently came down. This, was, undoubtedly "considerate action" on the part of the hata They were evidently bent on .finding heads to cover, and thereby fulfilling their raison d' etre.
