_ London, August 8. In the House ot Commons to-day Mr Parnell's amendment to the Commission Bill, making it a penal offence for witnesses to observe reticence at the inquiry, was withdrawn, on the Government assuring the House that witnesses would be compelled to disclose all the information they possessed. A motion by Mr Laboucheie to exclude " The Times " from the provisions of the indemnity clauses if the charges were found to be libels was defeated. The Commission were authorised t<\. make progress reports.
The Government officers who carried out the recent eviction at Kilrush have been summoned for damages and trespass, as it is alleged the eviuions were illegal.
