In the House of Commons to-day on the motion to report the Commission Bill, a new clause, proposed by Mr Matthews, the Home Secretary, wasinserted, providing for the arrest and punishment of any witness who neglected to attend to a summons or refused to give evidence. Several FarnelUte proposals demanding the limiting of the enquiry were rejected. The debate was adjourned.
