1.0. G.T. ANNIVERSARY
The members of the Dawn of Peaoe Lodge are to be congratulated upon tha success which attended the anniversary oelebration. which took plaoe m tho Templar Hill last evening. A large number of members and friends sat down to the tea, tho tables being looked after by Misses Addis, 0. Andrews, Dalton, Dent, Hardley, Jones, Undrill, and Mrs Washington. After justice had been done to the good things provided, and the room cleared, Mr Arthur took the chair, and m a short and interesting epaeoh opened the meeting. Then followed one of the best programmes given for some time. Miss Ray and nor little Bister, a young lady of very few Bnrx.tners, give n selection on the violin and piano m good style, and were heartily applauded. Mr J. W. Sawle gave an Interesting address, showing In what sense the Lodge was a benefit Society. Misses Addis and Grum gave a dialogue, and were well reoeived. Mies Kay contributed a song, for which ehe was deservedly encored, Mr Mayo, with Mr Kneen as accompanyfB f , gave " Home Sweet Home," very nicely. Mlbs Hloks sang "My Brilliant end I," splendidly, and we oertainly hope to hear her again, Then followed a splendid item from Mr and Miss Simmons on the violin, with piano accompaniment by Mr Kooen, and folly deserved tho enthusiastic encore which they reoeived, Mr Potter gave a reading which kept the audience m continual lou^hter, Mr Kneen contributed a song m that gentleman's good style Mr Arthur gave a Scotch reading which was greatly appreciated. Mr Gamble's Bong wbb very well given. Mr Minnin gave a splendid recitation, and was loudly applauded for his effort. Mr and Mrs Flower contributed » part song, for which they reoeived a well deserved encore. Then followed a recitation by Miss Hovrard, which was verynioelyglven. After the programme was gone through, the DBual votoß of thanks were passed to those who had so generously assisted to make fie anniversary so successful! . Great crtdlt is due to the various members of the Lodge, and the members of the Oommiitoo In particular for the energetic manner m which they had worked to make the oelebration a sucoobb, and they will be well repaid by knowing their labours have not been In vain.
