The usual monthly meeting of tha Mount Hutt Ro»d Board was held <& Thursday, July 12tb. Present— Messrs W. McMillan, J. Holmes, J. Johnston, and D. Cameron. i The Clerk's report was read and considered, and instructions given to have all small works tendered for m a lump j Bam, to be done to the satisfaction of the j Board. It was resolved to oall tenders for tho formation of about 40 chains of the Railway* Road between Lauriston and Sherwood. Correspondence was read from Mr W. 0. Walker, M.H.R. re sale of reserve, Mount Somers ; from Commissioner of Property Tax re granting facilities to assessors for exami-ing maps and rolls ; from Mr A. Prunty re opening road.—Resolved to give Mr D. Cameron notioe again to at once remove the fenoo ; from tha Ashburton Connty Connoli covering refund for birds' eggs iand repairs t_ water races. Mr Moivey's tender for the formation of TJlyett's Road at 3s 6d per ohaln wii accepted. Mr J. Nee'a tender for repairs on Goon's Road was aooepted. Ie was resolved that the Roman Oathollo congregation be allowed the use of the Road Board Offioa for the purpose of holding service on Sundays on the same oonditlons as other denominations. Accounts to the amount of £13 13j 61 were passed for payment.
