Wanganui, July 28. John Collins, a well known oharaoter now waiting trial for larceny, eaoaped from gaol this morning but was soon recaptured He was m the exerolsa yard and climbed over the fence, whioh is rather low. The alarm was given almost immediately and Sergeant Kelly followed him up, and finding him m the oemetery covered him with a rovolver. Collins gave m and wbb baok m gaol within an hour of his esoape.
