Dr Modz es moved that Bible reading fa schools should be no longer prohibited.: After a debate the motion wag lost on a division— Ayes 15, noes 16. Ayes :— Baillie, Barnlooat, Bonar, Eraser, Holmes, M»rtln, McLean, Menzlea, Morris, Oliver, Petor, Richmond, Wigley, Williams, Wilson. Noes : — Dlgoan, Grace, Hart, Kenny, Pnarszyn, Pollen, Shepherd, Shrlmskt, Stevens, Swanaon, Taiaroa, Walker, Wahawaha, Waterhouse, Whitmore, Whitaker. . ' The Oounoil rose at 5 p.m.
