ENGLISH DEFENCES.
With five days' notice thirty-eight men-of-war assembled at Spitbead and thirty-one off Portland ready for active service, Admirals Baird and Rowley being m command. A stronger squadron will endeavor to blockade a fleet under Admiral Tryon and Captain Filzßoy, after the conclusion of the celebration m connection with the tercentenary of the Spanish Armada on the 19th inst.
