Earl Spencer, replying to Lord Camperdown m the House of Lords, said he" regarded the existence of tl^e Nationftl League, interfering as % did between landlord and tenant, as an unhealthy sign. He disapproved of some of the League's acts, but considered it was » perfectly legal society,' and believed it possessed the sympathy of thfc mass of the people.
