Thubsday, July 12, The Council met at 2 . 30 p. ra NA7IVR BILLS The Attorney-General moved the appointment of a committee to conaidor and report on the proposed Native legislation. iii Reynolds moved the adjournment of the debate till Friday. Agreed to. LAND TRANSFER ASSURANCE FUND. The adjourned debate on the appropriation of the assurance fund of tbe Land Transfer Department was resumed. The Attorney-General said thit it was quite a misconception to suppose that this was a trust fund. The manner In whlah the moneys wore dealt with, being banded to the Public Trustee, was quite Irregular. The motion was carried on the voices*. ODBTOM3 DUTIES BILL. The adjourned debate -on the question of the second reading of the Customs and Exotao Duties Bill was resumed by Mr Oliver, who was speaking when the Council rose at 6.30 p.m.
