MOUNT SOMERS ROAD BOARD,
The usual monthly meeting ot this Board was held m their office on Monday last. Present— Messrs Harrison, Edflon and Chapman. Mr Harrison was voted to the ohair. overseer's report. The Overseer's report was read and oonaidered. It was resolved to call tenders for a supply of Bhingle on the Alford Forest road near Jolly's. It waa resolved to repair Graham's road. It was resolved to fill m the ruts on the Gorge road. CORRESPONDENCE. Letters were read— (l) From the County Counoil stating that £11 19s 4d was available j for poisoned grain— The Clerk was instructed to purohase grain to that amount and distribute the same to any one wanting it. (2) From Messrs Wilding and Lewis on behalf of Mr Stephen Ryan asking for an extension of time to pay rates. Granted. (3) From New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Company stating that they had sold section 26796 to Mr J. Brown and asking that bis name be put on tbe roll— To be attended to. ALFORD ITOREBT POUND.,. It was resolved that tenders*bVinvited for keeping the pound for twelve months, tenders to be m by the next meeting of the Board. GOBSE ON ROADS. Resolved that the Olerk advertise that gorse growing on the roads must be oleared by the 31st July. BUSH ROAD, Permission was granted to Mr A. W. Smith to out timber on the Board's road between sections 21742 and 21740. RATES. Mr Chapman a eke 5 permission to postpone till next meeting the proposal to strike a rate. Agreed to. PAYMENTS. The pay-sheet amounting to £21 5s 6d was passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
