Richard >!c J» ry wja sentenced to two years for larceny. Christchuroh, Ju'y 2 The Supremo Court criminal sittings opened to-day, before Mr Justice Watd. who congratulated the Grand Jury on the lightness of the calenda , and expressed bis sanee cf the losi sustained by the colony through the death of Mr Justice Johnston. Esther Matilda Bvorstt pleaded guilty to forcing a cheque for £11, on the Oo'onlal Bink. Tne Probation Officar'a 1 report was very favorable, and she was placed on probation for 12 months.
