Friday, Junk 29. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. NATIVES LANDS COURT. Mr Wahawaha continued the debate on his motion to the effaot that Government should seleot as judges, assessors, Inter* preters, registrars, eto, for the Native Land .Court, only persons of good characters and special ability. The motion waa agreed to. RETURNS. Mr Stevens laid on the table the following returns : —Estimate of the increased property tax revenue, which would have beea receivable daring the past financial year if the exception had excluded from the tax only persons owning £100 worth of property—'£B3oo; estimate of private income for the same period not arising from property already taxed under the property tax, excluding all Incomes under £150-£280,000 The Council rose at 3 p.ml till Tuesday.
