Sydnkv, Juno 20. The " Daily Telegraph " this morning has a leading article on the Tariff debate m the New Zealand Parliament. The article states Government had to face the thankless task ot straightening the finances of the colony, and were entitled to lenient criticism. Protection had been brought m, not openly as a change of policy, but as a means of providing revenue which was best secured against the insiduous approach of Protection by economical financial administration.
