PROTECTION LEAGUE.
We mentioned a few days ago that there was some talk of starting a branch of the Protection League m Ashburton and from what we can learn there is some prospect of the proposal being heartily taken up. There is among us a number of staunch Protectionists and the proposed League would do much to strengthen the hands of members of the Legislature m the district when any ! question of Protection to Local Indus tries is being discussed m the House or out of it.
