, ,<E Qn resuming It was reported that the following resolutions h«d been carried :— (1) " That whereaß ttto exemption from rates conceded to those owners who paid for the oocftruotlon of their water raoes will cease at the end of about two years from May JbbV, no departure be now : made from the resolution agreed to on the 7th March, 1884, by whloh the water rates are now levied." (2) "That the present system of allowIng ratepayers to make their own water raoes, and having the water free of charge bo discontinued," (3) "That the Engineer In January., In eaoh year bring before the Oounoll the names of those ratepayers who, In his opinion, have been fairly compensated for the making of their water races, by the exemption granted $horn from the payment 1 of water raoe rates."
