The Houee met at 2 30 p.m. MEMOBIAL SERVICE The Speaker read a letter which he bad reoeived from the German Consul m Wellington asking him to bring under the notice of the House of Representatives the fact that a memorial service In hocoar of the late Emperor Frederick would be held on Sunday next, and that the German residents would consider it an honour if members of the House would attend the aervlopi QUESTIONS. Replying to questions it was aUted that it was not proposed to introduce legislation for levying a tax on guns from owners this neaslon, but that the matter would be considered during the reoass ; that the date of delivery of the Public ! Works Statement would depend on whether or not the ficauoial proposals of Government were accepted by the House ; that Government oould not grant the request to pqt on workers trains at reduced rates on Government lines. A number of local Bills were advanced a stage. CLUBS OHARTEKS. . Mr Goldle moved— "That In the opinion of thig House it ia undesirable that licenses should be granted to clubs which hold their meetings m hotels, and should any such exist that steps be taken at the earliest possible moment to cancel them." Mr Smith moved that " charter " be *übstltut d for " license." The amendment was agreed to, and the motion as amended wan onrried. The House adjourned at 5.30 p.m.
