ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.

There was an average attendance of buyers at Addington yards yesterday. A complete clearance was effected. Beef may be quoted at about 183 per 1091 b for prime ox beef, inferior down to about 14s 6d. The top price realised for fat beeves was £8. There were not many calves entered, and what were sold brought from 223 to 27a. There was a be'ter entry of Btore cattle, and six quarter and two-year-old Bteers brought about 50s. A fair entry of good cows was submitted, and met a demand that showed Borne heartiness. Milohers went off at fair prices, but ordinary stock and inferior caused no inquiry and brought from a very low minimum up to about £5. Sheep. — The quality of the sheep entered was unusually good, and there was an average number put m. For heavy freezers there was a good demand and up to 16a 6d was obtained. In one or two very exoeptional oases even more than this could be quoted. But perhaps the figure for ordinarily good wethers would be about 133 to 14s, and ewes up to 13s 9d. Mutton per lb may be quoted at l£d to 2£d. There were more enquiries for store sheep for turnips than the supply oould meet, and fair prices were given for those on ofler, a line 0! mixed halfbreds. Few lambs were entered, and elicited spirited demand, 9a 3d being paid for some. Pig 5 were m good demand. Pork fe toned about 3|d per lb.
