♦ — A rpeolal meeting of the Borough Council was held last evening. Present-— The Mayor, and Ors Williamson, Friedlander, Tucker, Soofct, Bird, Boberta, Reid, Sea'y, and Thomas. The purpose of the meeting was to make an appointment to the combined offices of Town Oletk and Roroagh'Englr.eer, two gentlemen between whom lay the final ohoice, having been aeleofc a d at the last Council meeting ; also to take Into consideration legal ad vice bs to. the status of Mr.Braddell, the late appointee to the positions, that gentleman having refused to accept aa sufficient the one month's notice of the termination of. his engagement lately given him by the Council. The matters were considered m Commit' tee at great length. On resuming it was reported that Messrs Fooka and Son had been appointed to the positions of Town Olerk and Engineer.
