His gun went off, and / the ballet passed throngh bo*h thighs I smashing tho bono of the right leg Fielding was found some hoars afterwards by his matp, lying m » pool of blood. Dr Hooking arrived from Maiterton, a distance of 30 miles, and dressed' the wounds of the injured man, who waa conveyed on bis mate's shoulder three miles, thence by brake. Anderson, a ben ah man at Mamigamohe saw mills, was struck by a large splinter from the maahine whioh entered the side of hli eye and passed underneath to the brain. He was chloroformed at the Hospital, and it took the united efforts of Drs Hosking and Milne to ex'raot the wood*
