(P«a Press Association.) London. Jane 10. Consols are quoted at 100^. Owing to speculative operations the New Zealand 4 per cent. Inscribed Stock is showing a strong upward tendency. The present quotation is 98. For cargoes of new crop on the passage 33s 3d is offered, but sellers ask 6d more. Off-coast cargoes hare all been Bold. iTew Zealand wheat, long berried, 35s 3d ; New Zealand flour, patent, 22s 6d ; Australian superfine, 24s ex store. Tallow, best mutton 245, beef 235. .. . Sidney, June 11. Commercial advices from London to May 4th show that New Zealand mutton is bringing from 2s 6d to 2s 8d per 81b ; North Canterbury carcases 2s 7d to 2s 9d. Preserved meats are slightly improved. New Zealand cheese is inquired for. There is none m the market. English hop growers are reported to be feeling the effects of foreign ' competition very severely. ' The following private telegram was received m Christchurch yesterday ; — Adelade wheat, off- coast, 33s per quarter. Market is depressed by anticipation of heavy imports.
