A! new clause m lieu thereof was inserted, indemnify-: ing the Government for all acts since May provided th^t persons were not deprived of the right of free action before the passing of the Bill. Advices from Hong Kong state that His Excellency the Governor, Sir Win, Desvoux, has expressed his indignation at the action of the Victorian Government m keeping the Chinese out of the colony. , . .' z .
