Mr Phatazyn moved that the San Francisco mail service be discontinued after the determination of the present contract. Sir Frederick Whitaker sad that the "whole question would shortly be discussed by the Cabinet. The motion was ultimately withdrawn/ THE CHINESE BILL. The adjourned debate on the Chinese Immigrants Act Amendment JBill was continued, with the reßult that the. Bill was passed by 16 to 8 , LAND TRANSFER AOT AMBNfIICENT BILL The Land Transfer. Act Amend meat Bill was read a second time. The Council rose at 4.10 p.m.
