Sir George Whltmore moved • an amendment that- the whole matter bo referred to a Select Committee to report. The following are the Committee elected by ballot : — Waterhoaae, Richmond, Pollen, Stevens, McLean, Miller and the mover; EDOQATJON. Mr Barniccat continued' the debate on Mr Oliver's motion for tha abolition of Education Inarch and raising the school age. Ha oppoael tho motion. Tne Speaker allowed the motion to be divided, with the result that raising the ttobool aga was ended by 13 to 7, and the übolltion of the Education Boards rejected by 11 to 9. The Council ac'j uirned at 5 6 p.m.
